Biography I was born in Stockholm, Sweden. After graduating from the French lyceé in Stockholm, I married an Irish diplomat and have spent most of my adult life either on diplomatic postings with my husband or in Dublin. My husband left the diplomatic service in 2002 and we now live in County Tipperary. As one of my favourite pastimes is dance and exercise, I trained as a fitness teacher and taught aerobics and general fitness while on postings abroad and in Ireland. I have published two books on health; Look Great, Feel Great for Life (Gill&Macmillan 1999) and The Life in Your Years (Gill&Macmillan 2000). While writing my fitness books, I discovered a love of writing and decided to try my hand at fiction, drawing on my experiences as the wife of a diplomat. My first novel, Diplomatic Incidents (Blackstaff Press) was published in 2001; European Affairs (also Blackstaff Press) followed in 2003. While on a skiing holiday in the French Alps, I had the idea of writing a novel set in a chalet in a ski resort. Fresh Powder (New Island 2006) was the result. 'Finding Margo', my fourth novel, was published in May 2007 and I got the idea for the story while on a driving holiday in France. The fact that I can't read a map, sparked the beginning of the story and you can find out how by reading the first chapter on this website... I love country life, a great a contrast to my previous lifestyle. I have finally been able to realise my childhood dream of owning a horse, and I ride every morning in the beautiful countryside of County Tipperary. Both my husband and I are keen skiers and we usually spend a week in the Alps every winter. |
