2007 was a very exciting year. My new novel, 'Finding Margo' was published in May and seemed to fly off the shelves as soon as it appeared. It got wonderful reviews in all national and local newspapers and even five stars in The Mail on Sunday! I had great fun doing publicity and the summer was hectic! At the end of September, I took part in the reader's and writer's day organised by Fingal County Library. It was a wonderful day and I met a lot of fellow authors, including the lovely Katie Fforde, bestselling author from the UK and main speaker of the day. I spoke about my own experiences as a writer and about my books. I have given a number of book talks through the autumn and as soon as I have finished one, I am asked to do another! I spoke to the Women's International Club in Dublin in January, a very well attended and enjoyable event. The Swedish embassy hosted an evening around my writing on March 4. It was organised by SWEA, (the Swedish Women's Educational Association), who have a branch in Ireland (www.chapters-swea.org/irland). I spoke in Swedish this time and all invited were fellow Swedes. It was a fantastic evening. I was so pleased to meet so many of my countrywomen and was touched by their enthusiasm and support. The food and wine were superb and a good time was had by all (especially me). Tack SWEA och Svenska Ambassaden! In the meantime, I am working on my next project, a family saga based on the lives of two women in my family, set in Stockholm and New York in 1900 through to the 1930's. I really enjoy writing historical fiction and I have a feeling it will be the start of a new era in my writing career. I am also writing book reviews for The Sunday Independent, which I really enjoy.
